Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite holiday! While the majority of the world tends to go straight to Christmas after Halloween, I’m over here at the lake working on my Thanksgiving menu and daydreaming about mashed potatoes and gravy. Who’s with me?!

Food, family, and entertaining…what’s not to love about Thanksgiving? Like my son, Zach, said to me the other day, “Thanksgiving is a blogger’s dream!” I kind of chuckled, because it’s true, but I promise I deemed Thanksgiving my favorite holiday way before I even knew what a blog was.

The food and decor are always important for any holiday or gathering but there’s another key component you absolutely can’t forget about. Any idea what it might be, my friend? If you said picking the perfect outfit for the occasion you’re 100% right!

Picking the right outfit to wear on Thanksgiving is so very important. There’s a ton to think about when planning out your Thanksgiving look. Not only are you wanting to look cute, but you’re also needing an outfit that’s comfortable enough to accommodate your bloated Thanksgiving belly. I’m just stating the facts…

Lucky for me, and you now too, I have an Anna! You might have an Anna in your life as well, but is yours a virtual stylist like mine?! Anna and I met on Instagram a while back and connected over our love for Stitch Fix. I’m a Stitch Fix junkie (I’ve received 60 plus boxes) and she was a Stitch Fix stylist at the time. It was a match made in heaven if I do say so myself!

I reached out to Anna in hopes of getting her to help come up with some Thanksgiving outfit inspiration. I was blown away by her enthusiasm to want to help me out. She hit the ground running and created six adorable looks in just a few hours. What I wouldn’t give to have just a little bit of her styling skills!

Thanksgiving outfits for 2020 might look a little different this year due to the pandemic and the continued need for social distancing and smaller gatherings. With that in mind, I asked Anna to create outfits that fell into these three categories: casual Thanksgiving outfits, dressy Thanksgiving outfits, and lounging Thanksgiving outfits.

I can pretty much guarantee one if not more of these looks will fit your Thanksgiving outfit needs. I loved Anna’s picks so much that I ended up buying two of the looks for myself: one to cook and lounge in earlier in the day and the other to change into for Thanksgiving dinner. I couldn’t help myself and I know you won’t be able to either once you see what she put together.

For the record, the play on words below is all on Anna. She’s seriously my spirit animal!

Cute and Casual Thanksgiving Outfits

Casual Outfit 1 (Hey all you casual cooks and kittens)

These fun animal-print pants are designed with a rayon/spandex blend that provides pie-worthy stretch. Pair them with a staple chambray shirt, which can be worn tunic style or tied in a knot at your waist. Cuff the sleeves a couple of inches above your wrists to show off a set of beaded bracelets. Slip into black mules, which you can slide off when you’re ready to be a sweet (couch) potato.

Casual Outfit 2 (Blue jean gravy)

Refresh your sweater collection with an on-trend, cropped cardigan. Wear it buttoned up, paired with vintage jeans. This pair comes in standard, petite, and tall sizes! Keep your hair out of the gravy with a mustard hairband and finish with printed flats.

Pretty and Dressy Thanksgiving Outfits

Dressy Outfit 1 (Dress up & get basted)

Tuck this cream, balloon sleeve top into a pleated skirt. We love this chartreuse hue and it features an elastic waist for the win! Slide into neutral booties and go for the gold with a paperclip style necklace; these are stealing the jewelry spotlight this season.

Dressy Outfit 2 (Ready or not, here they crumb)

A one-piece outfit? Sign me up. Slip on a dress to get ready for hungry guests in seconds and still feel like the hostest with the mostest (style). Cognac-colored wedges or booties and drop earrings are the perfect way to finish the look!

This outfit is all me, you know me and teal, so I had to head over to Target to snag it. I’m obsessed with it! What do you think? It has pockets, by the way.

Comfy and Lounging Thanksgiving Outfits

Lounge Outfit 1 (Yes I yam wearing sweats)

Go all out comfy in a cute, matching tan ombre sweatshirt and joggers, which both come in sizes XS – 4X. Finish your messy bun with a soft, suede scrunchie and keep your feet warm in fur-lined moccasins.

I also bought this outfit for Thanksgiving. I plan to do all my cooking and prepping earlier in the day in this comfy pair of sweats. I even bought the matching scrunchies to pull my hair back. Yes, the scrunchies are suede which is perfect for my curly mane!

Lounge Outfit 2 (Grateful for leggings)

What are we grateful for? Soft, comfy layers! Wear this super cozy cardigan over a black tee and leggings and relax like a turkey visiting the home of a vegan on Thanksgiving Day.

I love that blue dress! It is so pretty on you! Perfect for Thanksgiving… and also allows for lots of room to eat. Haha.

Love the dress you chose! It is absolutely darling and those puff sleeves are so chic! You look adorable! I’m jealous that you’ve already got your menu and clothes decided on for Thanksgiving–you are way ahead of the rest of us! But, now that you’ve given me some ideas for clothes for Thanksgiving–I need to get serious and start thinking about it. Thanks for a super fun blog! I’m in the mood for something fun right now!
