Easy Apple Cider Margarita

My Easy Apple Cider Margarita is the best fall cocktail recipe to indulge in this autumn season. Enjoy this delicious fall-twist to a traditional margarita recipe.

Easy Apple Cider Margarita

Happy Fall Y’all! I’m laughing as I’m typing this because today in Florida it feels more like summer at a whopping 89 degrees. I hope you’re actually getting to enjoy some traditional fall temperatures wherever you are because we definitely aren’t.

I must say, today’s Thirsty Thursday recipe is the perfect fall cocktail for this transitional period of summer and fall that so many of us are currently dealing with. This Apple Cider Margarita recipe is served chilled but features the apple and cinnamon flavors that we all have come to love during the fall season.

I’m so excited to share this margarita recipe with you today because it has been a while since I’ve featured a tequila-based cocktail here on the blog. When I started my weekly Thirsty Thursdays back in April, I solely focused on cocktails with tequila. I actually deemed every Thursday, “Tequila Thursday”.

After creating a hefty amount of tequila-based cocktail concoctions, I decided to venture out into different liquors and alcohols for my peeps who don’t really share my same love of tequila. It was then that I inherited the new name “Thirsty Thursday” instead. You’re welcome for the history lesson.

So I guess you can say this Easy Apple Cider Margarita recipe is taking me back to my roots. I’m totally ecstatic about it too. Traditional margaritas are delicious all on their own, but I find pure joy in doctoring them up into something special. Strawberry Margaritas on the Rocks or Spicy Mango Margaritas, anyone?

Unbeknownst to me, The Rock created his own version of an apple cider margarita on Instagram a couple of days ago. My son, Zach, shared this with me when I told him what I was whipping up today for my cocktail. I’m not going to lie, I did feel a little extra awesome knowing that I was on the same wavelength as The Rock.

I’m definitely not sponsored by The Rock (That would be absolutely epic!), but I do want to say I am obsessed with the Termana tequila he came out with earlier this year. I used the reposado variety in this apple cider margarita and I swear it took the cocktail to the next level.

Bottles of Teremana Tequila

If you’re unfamiliar with reposado tequila, it’s the variety of tequila that is darker in color. It gets its color from being aged in oak-wood barrels. The warmness of this type of tequila really lends well to the apple cider margarita. I think it’s perfect for fall and winter tequila cocktails.

If you only have the silver variety of tequila on hand that is absolutely fine. Feel free to substitute it one for one with the reposado called for in the recipe. If you’ve never tried one before, however, I do hope you’ll experiment with a reposado tequila in the future because it’s simply delicious.

Besides the tequila, another very important component to this Easy Apple Cider Margarita recipe is the apple cider. Duh, right?! For this margarita, I used my two-ingredient crockpot apple cider recipe. Seriously, it’s the easiest recipe ever.

For my apple cider recipe, I add store-bought apple cider to a crockpot with a few sticks of cinnamon and heat it up. I leave it in the crockpot on warm and we sip on it throughout the day. Whatever we don’t drink, I pour back into the container and then store it in the fridge.

I like the way the spiced apple cider tastes in this recipe but feel free to use just the store-bought variety straight out of the container. If you want the spice but don’t have the time, just sprinkle in some cinnamon to your cocktail shaker when mixing up apple cider margarita!
