It’s Confession Time, my friends! The time has come for me to share with you a little guilty pleasure I have every time the fall season starts to set in.

Are you ready for it?! Okay, here we go.

Don’t laugh when I tell you this but for some odd reason, I’ve discovered this deep fondness for Hershey’s cinnamon chips.

Please, please tell me you’ve tried them before! They’re little morsels, just like the chocolate kind, but they are cinnamon flavored!

Hershey's Cinnamon Chips

I was introduced to these little morsels of heaven two years ago when eating breakfast at a place I love to frequent called, First Watch. One of the seasonal specialties on their autumn menu happened to be cinnamon swirl pancakes with cinnamon chips.

Oh my word, those cinnamon swirl pancakes are incredible! Like, make your brains fall out delicious.

I instantly became obsessed with them and found myself at First Watch way more often than I’d like to admit. It was becoming so embarrassing that I ended up making a copycat recipe of the First Watch pancakes so I could eat them at home any time my little heart desired.

You must try the recipe. You can find the recipe, here.

Lucky for me, I had to buy cinnamon chips in order to make those cinnamon swirl pancakes at home. I’d have to say that’s where the obsession began for me.

From that point forward I began actively looking for ways to incorporate cinnamon chips into my cooking and baking.

I noticed that 2 ingredient pumpkin muffins were becoming pretty popular amongst the Internet these days and wanted to make a batch for “The Boys”. The muffins are super yummy on their own but I wanted to take them a step further with the addition of, you guessed it, cinnamon chips.

The addition of the cinnamon chips took a simple recipe and elevated it to the next level. That was precisely the result I was hoping to achieve. Nailed it!

And because I couldn’t help myself, I decided to take it a step further and added a crumb topping to really blow these pumpkin cinnamon chip muffins out of the water!

Add pumpkin batter to your muffin tin. I like to use an ice cream scooper to insure I get the same amount of batter in each of the cupcake liners.
