With just four ingredients, this Simple and Easy Cranberry Sauce has to be a side dish on your holiday table this year! Plus, it can be made ahead of time.
Recipe type: Side Dish
Serves: 8 to 10 servings
  • 12 oz bag fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  1. Begin by placing 1 cup of water and ½ cup of sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. You are looking for the sugar to dissolve in the water.
  2. While you are waiting for the sugar to dissolve you’ll want to put your cranberries in a strainer and rinse them off.
  3. Once the sugar has dissolved in the water you can add the rinsed cranberries to the saucepan and cover it with a lid.
  4. As the water comes back up to a boil the cranberries will start to pop open. You want to cook them with the lid on until all the cranberries have popped open, which should take about 5 minutes.
  5. Once all the cranberries have popped open you can remove the lid and turn the temperature down to low/medium-low to prevent the cranberry juice from spraying all over your stove.
  6. Continue cooking on low/medium-low for about 5 more minutes or until all the cranberries have broken down.
  7. Finally, add ½ cup of orange juice and stir.
  8. Pour in a serving dish, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until it's time to serve.
  9. We eat this cold but you can reheat it in a saucepan if you prefer it hot just before serving.
