I have a secret to share with you. It has to do with why I am just sharing my Thirsty Thursday drink recipe with you…on a Friday!
Here’s the truth. I kind of played hooky yesterday and decided to drop everything I was doing to go to the beach with some girlfriends of mine. They had rented a beach condo in New Smyrna Beach for a couple of nights so I decided to head over to spend the day with them! I would’ve much rather stayed for the entire three days but it just wasn’t in the cards for me this time around.
I almost didn’t go. As much as I wanted to, I had a million things to do on my agenda that I needed to get done and I was feeling overwhelmed. However, I decided to bite the bullet and just go anyway. Ultimately, everything could wait and the world wasn’t going to end if I did my weekly cocktail on a Friday instead of Thursday…
Can I just tell you that I was so happy I went! Besides the fact that the weather was absolutely perfect, it was so peaceful to sit on my beach chair and stare at the waves while they continuously crashed on the shoreline. Plus, I got to enjoy some quality time and great conversation with my friends.
The best thing to come out of my beach day was probably the idea for today’s summer cocktail. As I lounged on the sand, I wished someone would magically appear with a daiquiri to place in my hand. That’s when the lightbulb went off and I knew I needed to make a banana daiquiri recipe for you. And of course, I needed the recipe equally as much!
Before I share today’s cocktail recipe with you, I want to talk a little bit about the ingredients I used to make it. I always like to share how you can swap ingredients out or just provide some tips to help you when you’re trying to recreate any of my cocktails at home.
The rum: I used two different kinds of rum in this cocktail. I used silver Bacardi rum in a banana flavor as well as a banana rum cream. The Bacardi looks exactly like a traditional rum but is flavored with banana. The banana rum cream, however, is similar to the consistency of Bailey’s or Irish Cream. Feel free to substitute the banana Bacardi rum for traditional rum but I highly suggest you use the banana rum cream liqueur because it helps give your daiquiri a nice smooth consistency. Here are links for the banana rum and banana rum cream.
The coconut water: I used regular coconut water for this banana daiquiri recipe because that’s what I had on hand. If you’re going out to buy the ingredients to make this cocktail, I would recommend coconut milk or coconut cream instead to achieve a thicker daiquiri.
Spiced Rum: I was super bummed I didn’t have any spiced rum in my liquor cabinet. I swore I did! I would HIGHLY recommend adding a ¼ to ½ oz. floater on top of your banana daiquiri before drinking it. Just that teeny bit of spice takes your frozen daiquiri to the next level. Don’t knock it until you try it! I love Captain Morgan spiced rum.
Frozen Banana Daiquiri Recipe
1 oz. Banana rum, 1 oz. Banana Cream Rum, ¼ cup coconut milk or water, 1 banana, ice
Begin by placing your banana inside the base of your blender.
Next, add your coconut water or milk.
The regular banana rum gets added next.
Place your banana cream rum liqueur into the base of the blender.

Fill your blender base with about a cup of ice.
Pulse your daiquiri a couple of times until you reach your desired consistency. If the drink seems a little too watery, add some more ice and pulse again.
Pour your daiquiri into a glass and that’s all she wrote. Feel free to garnish with a maraschino cherry and a floater of spiced rum!
This Frozen Banana Daiquiri Recipe is the perfect cocktail for your next beach, pool, or lake day. With the current state of the country in terms of the Covid-19 virus, making my own frozen daiquiri recipe and sitting on the dock is the closest thing I’m going to get to a vacation this summer. I better make the best of it!
