Gone are the days when Halloween was just about the kiddos, folks. We, adults, deserve to have some Halloween fun too. Don’t you agree with me? I know you do!
While the kids are enjoying their mountains worth of Halloween candy, you should definitely be making one of these Halloween-inspired martinis. My Halloween cocktail is made with vodka and Midori melon liqueur. The sweet and tart flavors come from lemon juice and simple syrup. And you can’t forget the maraschino cherry garnish!
The reason I chose to classify this Midori martini as a Halloween cocktail recipe is simple: the electric green color! It kind of reminded me of Slimer. You remember him from the movie, Ghostbusters, don’t you? “Who are you going to call? GHOSTBUSTERS!”
To make these Midori martinis extra Halloweeny, if that’s even a word, I found some adorable Halloween food picks on Amazon. They were perfect for skewering my jumbo maraschino cherries.
And for a little more spookiness, I added a spider ring to the rim of the glass. I know it’s extra but I’m all about being extra these days!
What are some things you should consider when making these Halloween Midori Martinis?
Let’s start with the vodka. You want to use a really good vodka anytime you’re making a martini. Why? Because vodka is the star of the show in any martini! You’ll really taste the flavor of the vodka you add to your cocktail so it’s important to pick one that is smooth and well made.
I chose to use Grey Goose for my Midori martini. Some other well made vodkas are Ketel One, Belvedere, or even Titos. Just do yourself a favor and don’t go cheap here.
The other liquor being used in this Halloween cocktail recipe is Midori. Midori is a delicious melon-flavored liqueur. You’ll get a wonderful melon after taste from this martini recipe. It’s the perfect amount of sweetness too. It’s just enough without being overkill.
To sweeten our Halloween martini cocktail a little more, you’ll be making a simple syrup. You can actually buy simple syrup at the liquor store if you wanted to, but it’s only two ingredients and so easy to whip together.
To make a simple syrup, you put equal parts sugar to water in a saucepan and heat it up over medium heat until the sugar dissolves in the water. I used one cup each of sugar and water and then transferred the simple syrup into a container to store. It will last a few weeks in the refrigerator.
Once you see how easy it is to make your own simple syrup, you’ll want to head over to my strawberry or mango margarita recipes and see how you can infuse your syrups with different fruits. Spoiler alert: you’ll only need to add one additional item to your syrup to achieve this!
My final piece of advice when it comes to making the perfect Halloween martini is to make sure your ingredients are super duper cold. You can achieve this by chilling all your ingredients ahead if time permits. If that’s not possible, make sure you shake, shake, shake your martini in ice for a good minute. You want that bad boy ice cold, my friend!
Halloween Midori Martini
1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of vodka, 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of Midori liqueur, 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1/2 ounce or 1 tablespoon of simple syrup, maraschino cherries for garnish
Begin by filling a cocktail shaker with ice.
Pour in your ½ ounce of simple syrup into your cocktail shaker. For me, this was the perfect amount of sweetness for the martini. The amount of sweetness is always adjustable though. Feel free to start at ¼ of an ounce of simple syrup and work your way up until you reach your desired sweetness level.
Pour in your 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of vodka.
Next, add your 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of Midori melon-flavored liqueur.
Last, add in your lemon juice. Remember it’s 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of this as well.
Give your martini a really good shake to ensure all your ingredients are chilled completely.
Carefully, strain your cocktail into a martini glass.
Grab one of your adorable Halloween picks and add a couple of maraschino cherries to it.
If you want your Halloween pick to stand up like mine did in the photo, make sure that the actual end of the pick isn’t sticking out the bottom of the last cherry. You want to stick the Halloween skewer through and stop just before it pops out the end.
I’m just so obsessed with the way these fun Halloween cocktails turned out. Aren’t they just the cutest Halloween Midori martini cocktails you’ve ever seen? Raise your hand if you and your “Boo” will be drinking these on Halloween this year?!

This looks SO yummy and so festive because it looks like candy corn! I’m a vodka girl, so this is right up my alley. Tito’s is always our vodka of choice, but I love me some Grey Goose, too! My drink of choice when we went out in college was Grey Goose and Red Bull… def wouldn’t touch the Red Bull now though. Lol.
The college days…lol!! I do remember drinking a few Midori Sours during my college days so maybe this is kind of a throwback cocktail for me too. Happy Friday, Lindsay! 🧡
