It’s called being spoiled…

Florida Traveling Ideas | Spring Travel

I’ll admit it. There’s no use in lying about it anyway. If you’ve spent any time on my blog at all you already know the truth. I have picture evidence scattered all over the place. You can look here and here and even here and you’ll know right away. The secret is already out. Me and “The Boys” live on a little piece of paradise. And we are spoiled. Tremendously!

Lake life is the good life. And living on a lake in Florida…well that’s just plain exceptional. How many places can you enjoy lake life for 12 months out of the year! Spoiled. We are completely and totally spoiled.

Why am I feeling the need to admit this to you right now? Maybe it’s because I know that many of you are still out there wrapped up in jackets, scarves, and gloves while we’re down here soaking up the sun and gazing out at the lake view. I’m kind of feeling a little guilty if I’m being honest.

The actual start of spring isn’t until March 20th but I’m already feeling it in the air here! Spring is by far my favorite season in Florida. The temperature is perfect. It’s not too hot or too cold. The humidity isn’t suffocating like it is in the summer! During this season we see more days of sunshine and fewer days of rain.  It truly is the ideal time to make a trip here.

For us Floridians, this is the best time to enjoy the outdoors! For the past week or so we have been doing just that. The lake has been very active with boats, jet skis and water skiers getting in their “lake fix”. My family has opted to enjoy the lake and beautiful Florida weather by sitting on our butts and relaxing outside instead. What can I tell ya? That’s how we roll!

Let’s go back to last night, for example.  Zach was invited to a surprise birthday party and Patrick and I had an hour to kill before heading out to a business dinner for his job. What a dilemma, right?! What on earth could we possibly do with a free hour? Get your head out of the gutter, folks! This is a family-friendly website here😉

We may or may not have grabbed a couple of cocktails along with some cheese and grapes and headed outside to the lake…

It's called being spoiledCheck out those beautiful turquoise Adirondack chairs we’re lounging on. They’re a new addition to our backyard. We just added a pergola last week and I’m in the process of adding some new outdoor furniture to our space. Consider this a sneak peek of the color scheme I’m going with! It shouldn’t be much of a surprise if you’ve looked at some of our other home photos.

It's called being spoiledBoxer Love! Luckie always has to be in the middle of everything. She especially loves the lake and all it has to offer.

It's called being spoiledCompletely off-topic but wanted to share this with you all. I unknowingly fed her two grapes from the plate in this picture. I was clueless that grapes are TOXIC to dogs. I had to call the vet but was told two grapes should be okay for her size. She’s fine but it was definitely scary. I never, ever feed her table food and the one time I do I give her something toxic, ugh. Dog kibble, and only dog kibble, from this point forward!

It's called being spoiledHere I am in complete bliss. Look at all that skin! I had to break out my shorts and sandals already. I’m enjoying this now, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a teeny bit worried about how hot this summer is going to be for us here. Only time will tell.

It's called being spoiledThis is the life! And yes, it’s called being spoiled, but we work hard every day to be able to call this our home. It’s a dream for us and I’m so grateful I get to share our little piece of paradise with you. Even if it’s only just through my pictures and stories. I truly hope you’re enjoying the experience along with us!

Love these pictures–you really do live in a gorgeous area of the U.S.! Yes, we’ve been to Florida but during the blazing hot days of summer. But it would be worth another trip just to see your gorgeous house and beautiful surroundings! Have fun today basking in the sunshine…I have to go put on another set of wool socks!

    1. Hahahha! Totally not fair, I know. BUT…when it’s almost 100 degrees here this summer and I’m sweating like a crazy person, you’ll be enjoying comfortable temperatures. You can tease me then. Come visit!! Florida is calling your name.
