Are you and your significant other ready to get sweaty together? Join me and my husband this February for our Love is in the Air Couple’s Workout Challenge. There’s no better accountability partner than your own significant other!
Today is January 14th. It’s hard to believe that the holidays have come and gone and Valentine’s Day is in exactly one month from today.
I’m sure many of you have started 2020 off with a bang! You set your goals and started tackling them full speed ahead.
Our family went through the process of Choosing a Word of the Year and we are slowly getting back into the normal daily grind. We are trying hard to be the best versions of ourselves in 2020!
Part of my daily routine is completing a workout each morning with my husband, Patrick. We’ve done many at-home programs throughout the years, but it wasn’t until last January that we became really committed to working out 5 to 6 days a week.
Admittedly, November and December weren’t our best months and we worked out maybe 1 or 2 days a week…I guess that was better than nothing but definitely not a habit we wanted to adopt indefinitely.
After much discussion and many excuses on both our ends, we decided to finally jump back into our daily exercising routine this week. I’m happy to report that we have made it through both days this week. See our sweaty selfies for evidence!
When we started working out together years ago, it was purely because we both wanted to be healthy and get in shape. And quite frankly, it’s so much easier to stick to your goals when you have an accountability partner to do it along with you.
We knew we would be more successful in sticking to our goals by working out together but I don’t think either one of us realized the additional benefits we would reap from embarking on this journey together.
Honestly and truly, working out together has made us closer as a couple. It is something we look forward to doing together each and every day. It’s dedicated time we put aside for ourselves as a couple that we stick to daily no matter how busy we are.
Even when we are on vacation…
When I’m having an off-day or frustrated with a workout, Patrick always chimes in with words of encouragement and vice versa on my end. You feel love and support from your significant other on a completely different level.
It’s pretty amazing the connection we feel as a couple from a simple daily workout together.
I know so many of you have decided to make health a priority this year and I’m super proud of you. I’m curious though, how many of you are wanting to make your relationship with your partner stronger in 2020?
With a son leaving for college in less than two years, working on my connection with Patrick is at the top of my list of goals these days. Empty nest syndrome is already hitting hard for me people!
If you’re looking to build a better bond with your significant other, I encourage you to join Patrick and me in our Love is in the Air Couple’s Workout Challenge starting Saturday, February 1st and running through Saturday, February 29th.
Here is what the challenge will look like:
- As a couple, you and your significant other will commit to exercising and eating healthy for the entire month of February.
- Once you both agree to the challenge, you will need to complete this form to register.
- You will then receive an email from me welcoming you to the challenge and inviting you to join our Facebook accountability group. This is where we will post daily sweaty selfies, words of encouragement, recipes, successes, failures or anything else related to the challenge. *Please allow 24 hours as I will be sending out personalized emails to all registered couples.
- I also encourage you to use the hashtag #loveisintheaircouplesworkoutchallenge when adding those Instagram photos to your stories or feed!
What program or routine will this challenge follow?
Our biggest obstacle when it comes to working out is time. Patrick works insanely long hours and getting to the gym doesn’t fit into the equation.
We’ve learned to work around this by becoming Beachbody on Demand members and do all our workouts at home. There are hundreds of workouts to choose from and very little equipment is required.
We actually hide all our equipment behind the couch and in our entertainment center.
For this workout challenge, Patrick and I will be continuing our current workout routine which is a hybrid of Liift4 and Transform: 20 both of which are Beachbody programs.
We realize that not everyone wants to do these same programs and we don’t want to leave anyone out so we are only asking that you commit to exercising and eating healthy for the month of February. You will be able to share with us and the group what you plan on doing in terms of exercise in our Facebook accountability group.
However, if you are interested in trying out Beachbody just let me know on your registration form and I can give you some more information about signing up and some programs that would meet your needs. Personally, I think you’ll be shocked to hear how reasonably priced it is.
One more thing, while you’re patiently waiting for February 1st to roll around… I highly encourage you to read these two posts about fitness to help gear you up for what you’re about to partake in.
