It’s time to share the love and let you in on what I’m currently crushing on these days! Here is my list of favorite things I’m loving for the summer. You’ll find everything from games to play, food to eat and even cocktails to drink. You won’t want to miss this favorites list I created just for you.
I need to start off this post with an apology, my friend. I almost couldn’t believe it when I looked back and realized that the last time I shared a list of my favorite things was all the way back in January of 2018. I did a review of all my favorite things from 2017 and then went silent on the subject from that point forward.
Yikes, that’s pretty sad! I promise to do a better job at sharing these things with you more often on the blog. I’ve gotten into the bad habit of sharing things I like on my Instagram story and then never adding them here for all to read!
I hope you forgive me and I can make it up to you with today’s post. The items I added to this list are all perfect for the summer months ahead. I’m already getting a ton of use out of them and I can pretty much guarantee you and your family will too.
My List of Favorite Things I’m Loving for Summer
Wet Bags from Target Dollar Spot
Full disclosure, until I purchased these wet bags from Target a couple of weeks ago, I was still bringing plastic shopping bags on our water outings to put my wet clothes in. I can’t be alone on this. Please tell me I’m not the last person on earth to purchase wet bags?!?!
These wet bags fit perfectly in my lake bag and come in the cutest summer designs. Did you see the price tag? Yes, they were only $3 a piece. I just couldn’t resist buying them.
Head over to Target ASAP before they’re all gone and get one (or two) for yourself!
You know I’m all about lake life so it’s only fitting that I purchased a couple of new nautical-themed beach towels for the summer.
I’m so in love with these towels for many reasons:
- They are large enough to completely wrap around “The Boys” in my life. My husband is 6’3” and my son is 6 foot so that’s not an easy task.
- They are fluffy and absorb a ton of water! The material is thicker and definitely not cheap.
- The nautical-theme plus the color palette of blues speaks to my love language.
Life-Sized Tic Tac Toe from Target Dollar Spot
We absolutely love games in our family! We definitely enjoy a good board game but most of our favorite games are ones we can play outside by the lake or while tailgating during football season.
Cornhole and Giant Jenga are two of our favorite outdoor games, but I have a feeling this life-sized tic tac toe will be right up there with them sooner than later. And with a $5 price tag, it’s a must-buy for anyone looking for a family-friendly game to add to their collection.
This item can also be found in the Dollar Spot at Target but items are limited so make sure to go quick if you want one of your own.
Crook & Maker Good Times Malt Beverages
I found these spiked and sparkling malt beverages on sale at Target last week. If you can believe it, they have zero sugar and are made with organic alcohol. I’m sure they are still pretty bad for you in abundance, but if you’re going to be drinking anyway you might as well try a healthier option…right?!
The variety pack comes with these four flavors: Coconut Pineapple, Strawberry Lemon, Mango, and Peach. My personal favorite was the coconut pineapple. I will definitely be purchasing some more for my next lake day.
Believe it or not, I was introduced to these summer cocktails while grocery shopping at Publix a few weeks ago. They were giving out free samples and who was I to say no to the nice lady asking me if I wanted to try them.
These Corona Refrescas are not beer but they are still adult beverages containing alcohol. I would say they are comparable in taste to wine coolers.
They’re available in three varieties: Coconut Lime, Guava Lime, and Passionfruit Lime. All three are delicious! My only warning is that they don’t taste like alcohol so you’ll need to pace yourself while drinking them on a hot summer day because they go down very easy.
Trader Joe’s Chocolately Coated Chocolate Chip Dunkers
I’m obsessed with these, friends! You’ll notice in the picture that the container is completely empty. I finished these, almost completely by myself, in less than a week. They are honestly the perfect summer snack to have while watching tv, reading a book, or just because you want something to satisfy your sweet tooth.
These cookies are just fun to have around for your kiddos (or yourself) as a yummy snack in the afternoon with a glass of milk. Make sure to eat them inside and have wipes available for little fingers because they are coated in chocolate and melt easily. This is definitely an indoors snack!
For you neat freaks out there, they do come without the coating if you’re super worried about messes.
Trader Joe’s Speculoos Cookie Butter Ice Cream
Patrick and I may or may not have eaten this ice cream right out of the container with two spoons while watching tv…We may or may not have had to put the lid back on it before we finished the whole thing in one sitting…We may or may not have taken it out of the freezer the very next night and finished it off with two spoons right out of the container.
Simply put, this ice cream is amazing!! It’s a vanilla ice cream base swirled with Trader Joe’s famous cookie butter. My favorite part of the ice cream is the little bit of spice you get from the cinnamon. From one ice cream lover to another, this is a must-try this summer!
Trader Joe’s Whole Wheat Pitas and Vegan Kale, Cashew and Basil Pesto
With these two ingredients and some mozzarella cheese (and tomatoes if you have them on hand), you can make an easy and delicious lunch in about 5 minutes flat.
Start by putting your oven on broil. Cut your pitas in half and place under the broiler for about a minute just to toast them up a bit. Once toasted, pull them out of the oven and spread a couple of tablespoons of the pesto on top of them. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and tomatoes if you’re using them, and place them back in the oven to broil for another minute or so just until the cheese melts.
The flavor is out of this world!! A couple of weeks ago we spent the day on the lake but wanted to come in for a quick bite to eat because we were super hungry. I put these pita pizzas together in a flash and we were back out on the lake enjoying our day in no time. I can pretty much guarantee I’ll be making these on a weekly basis throughout these summer months!
