Hey there, and welcome back to another one of my Stitch Fix reviews. This August Stitch Fix is my 61st box (OH MY GOSH) and I’m so excited to share it with you today. Even after this many boxes, I’m still as much in love with the service as I was when I first started five years ago.

I’ll just say it. I’m obsessed with Stitch Fix and I’m not afraid to admit it. Knowing that someone takes out the time to pick a box of clothing just for me makes me feel like a complete Rock Star. The Aries woman that I am enjoys the extra attention. That’s why I flaunt all my outfits on Instagram, YouTube, and my blog for the world to see. I’m joking…a little!

If you’re not one to give the Internet a fashion show like I am, Stitch Fix is even more perfect for you. Why is that? Because you can try on clothes in your own house without ever having to step foot into a department store’s fitting room. Plus, there’s no guessing on what styles to buy, what length jeans to wear that flatters your figure, or if something is no longer “in style”.  You’ve got a stylist that will do that for you!

Not to mention, receiving a box feels like Christmas morning each and every time. As a wife, mom, daughter, friend, and all the other hats we wear as women, it’s nice to have a little something special for ourselves every once in a while. Stitch Fix has become a way for me to personally fill my own cup up. It just makes me happy!

Item #1 MARKET & SPRUCE Hans Crochet Front Top Size- XSP $58.00

My thoughts: If you follow along with me here on Lake Life State of Mind, it’s pretty evident that teal is one of my absolute favorite colors. At any given moment, you’re sure to see me wearing or sitting next to something teal. The color just makes me happy! So when I opened my August Stitch Fix box and saw this top, I was instantly drawn to it. I’m also a sucker for a cute feminine look and the lace detail of this shirt was adorable. I like the fact that this top is perfect with a pair of shorts like I styled it in the picture below, but will transition nicely to fall when paired with jeans. This blouse was definitely a keeper for me from this summer Stitch Fix box!

Item # 2 PAPERMOON Ilma Cold Shoulder Grommet Detail Blouse Size- XSP $44.00

PAPERMOON Ilma Cold Shoulder Grommet Detail Blouse Size- XSP $44.00

My thoughts: In full disclosure, this was my least favorite item in this month’s box. I struggled hard to figure out how to style this top. I paired it with the denim shorts pictured above, tried it with leggings, and ultimately with gray jeans and booties. I really wanted to like this blouse but it just wasn’t meant to be. I tucked the shirt into the front of my jeans to give it a little more of a form fit to my body. Without the shirt tucked in, I felt like it hung on me and I looked like a house. I willingly returned this item from my summer Stitch Fix box.

Item #3 LUSH Krisantha Tie Front Blouse Size- XS $42.00

LUSH Krisantha Tie Front Blouse Size- XS $42.00

My thoughts: At first glance, I was pretty confident this shirt was going to be a bust. For starters, I’m not the biggest fan of floral patterns. I also have nothing in my closet that is in a Boho style. Even though I had my hesitations, I tried on this top with an open mind because I have been pleasantly surprised with other clothes I didn’t care for in previous boxes. It took me maybe 2 seconds after trying this shirt on to realize I was in love with it. Everything I thought I wouldn’t like, the floral pattern and boho style, was everything I ended up loving about it. This was my favorite piece from this month’s fix by far!

Item # 4 KAILEIGH Arnett Faux Wrap Knit Dress Size- XS $54.00

KAILEIGH Arnett Faux Wrap Knit Dress Size- XS $54.00

My thoughts: Pretty in polka dots! I actually have been wanting a polka-dotted dress to add to my wardrobe. I’ve even pinned a few of them to my Pinterest boards so I was excited to see this one in my August box. I can’t really put my finger on the issue but something about the dress didn’t look flattering on my body. I think it might have something to do with the busyness of the pattern. I felt like it made me look larger than I really am and no one wants that. In the end, I returned this one.

Item # 5 KAILEIGH Rica Knit Crop Jumpsuit Size- XS $58.00

KAILEIGH Rica Knit Crop Jumpsuit Size- XS $58.00

My thoughts: I’m all about the rompers and jumpsuits lately so I was really expecting to go crazy over this item from my Stitch Fix box. After trying on the Boho style top, I was really enjoying the similar floral pattern of this piece. I liked that it had spaghetti straps to wear for the little bit of summer that’s left, but then it could easily transition for fall by throwing a denim jacket over it. And it had pockets too which is usually a home run for me! I think where this jumpsuit missed the mark was in the length and leg area. For starters, Capri length usually doesn’t work well on my 5 feet stature. I just feel like I look even shorter when wearing capris. The length paired with the wide legs just wasn’t vibing for me so I decided to return this one as well.

Final thoughts for my August 2020 Stitch Fix Box:

Stitch Fix Review for August 2020

Although I only ended up with two items from my August Stitch Fix, I was still satisfied with this month’s box. The pieces I received were all a perfect combination of both summer and fall. I could see myself comfortably wearing any of the items during these hot summer days, but then being able to add a jacket or cardigan to transition into fall with. I also appreciated being pushed a little out of my comfort zone this month with patterns and styles. It’s nice to try new things from time to time!

  1. I like what you kept! Too bad on the jumpsuit. It had potential but I definitely see what you mean about the wide legs. Would not work for me either.

    1. Yes, I was totally bummed about the jumpsuit. I loved the design and pattern so much but couldn’t deal with the length. I definitely don’t need anything to make me look shorter 😂

    1. Thank you! I saw it and knew I’d love it before even trying it on. The color is all me.

    1. I love the two tops as well! Super cute for sure. Thank you for stopping by, Holley 🙂

  2. I just LOVE your Stitch Fix blogposts! They are so fun (I think it’s because I love clothes)! Okay–loved the two items you kept, but I agree with your IG fans–you should have kept the jumpsuit. It was darling and nothing could possibly make you look heavy–you are so tiny! That’s one of the reasons you look so fabulous in everything. Do you ever regret anything you send back? Can you change your mind and reorder the same items? I’m wondering what the policies are with Stitch Fix. Thanks again for a fun post–with all that’s gone on in 2020–we need something fun!

    1. That’s a really good question…I’ve actually never had to go through that before. I think I would be able to get it back if they had it in stock in my size but it wouldn’t be a guarantee. Also, I do regret letting things go at times but I just feel like I get the boxes monthly so I can do without the one piece 😉

  3. Is the aqua colored shirt (MARKET & SPRUCE Hans Crochet Front Top) true-to-size?
I am looking at buying this shirt in a current color, and on the stich-fix photos it looks to have a pretty loose fit so I am not sure if I should stay with my normal size or size down.

    1. I find it to run true to size. It does blouse out a little but I worry if you sized down it might be tight around the chest and in the arm area. Hope that helps! ❤️
