October is here and you know what that means, right?! It’s time to share my October Stitch Fix Unboxing with you. Can you believe this is fix #62 for me? It amazes me because I’m still as much in love with this clothing subscription box as I was the day I received my very first box.
Recently, I’ve been receiving a Stitch Fix box on a monthly basis. When I received my August Stitch Box, however, I noticed myself not getting super excited about the clothes I was given as I had always been in the past. Because of this, I opted to skip the month of September and hold off for an October Stitch Fix box instead.
I don’t know if it was the one month break or the fact that my stylist literally killed it, but I loved every single item in this October clothing box. I’m not exaggerating either. I really had to think long and hard about what items were realistic to keep and that I would get the most use from.
Here’s the thing…and I’m going to get real with you here. I’ve been receiving Stitch Fix items for years and years at this point and I’ve learned to be smart about my purchases. In the beginning, I would keep anything and everything I received. Just ask my husband, Patrick!
It’s not that I’m against keeping all 5 items, you actually get a 25% off discount if you do, but there always seems to be one item that I don’t completely love from my box. In more cases than not, if I choose to return that one item it would actually cost me more money than keeping all five items with the 25% off discount. Does that make sense?
The dilemma then becomes:
- Keep all 5 items regardless even though I know I most likely won’t wear the item I’m not completely sold on.
- Pick a second item to return so my overall total rings up less than the discounted price.
The truth is, I normally go with option B to save money. I’d rather give up an additional item then waste money on an item I’ll never wear. Case in point, this October Stitch Fix…let’s take a look at what I ended up with.
Stitch Fix Box Review: October 2020 Fix #62
Item #1 KAILEIGH Felda Latice Back Detail Knit Tank Size- XS $34.00
My thoughts: This spaghetti strap shirt was my favorite item in this fall Stitch Fix box. I’m sure you’re probably thinking, ”Why would I keep a spaghetti strap shirt in October?” Besides the fact that it’s still summer temperatures here in Florida, it’s the perfect top to layer under a denim or moto jacket in the evening. The colors of the shirt are warmer and lend well to fall. And as you probably know by now, I’m a sucker for feminine touches when it comes to my clothes. This top not only had a beautiful floral design, but it also had an adorable crisscross pattern on the back of the top.

My decision: KEEP
Item #2 41 HAWTHORN Clearwater Mixed Material Blouse Size- XSP $58.00
My thoughts: When opening my October Stitch Fix Box, this blouse did nothing for me at first glance. I honestly didn’t like it, but I’ve learned from past Stitch Fix unboxings that you can’t judge a piece of clothing by just looking at it. This shirt was definitely an example of that theory. After trying this white blouse on, I was instantly in love. This is perfect for a date night or dinner out with the family. I love how it gives the illusion that there are two shirts when in actuality it’s one beautiful blouse all-in-one.

My decision: KEEP
Item #3 PINK CLOVER Longoria Whipstitch Detail Brushed Knit Top Size- XSP $40.00
My thoughts: This was the most basic item in this month’s Stitch Fix Box but it was also the softest piece by far. I seriously felt like I was wrapped in the coziest blanket known to man as soon as I put this on my body. It’s not the most interesting item, but a girl could always use some tried and true basics in her closet. This will definitely be worn quite a bit once the temperatures cool down here.

My decision: KEEP
Item #4 LILA LI Catena Henley Top Size- XS $42.00
My thoughts: Here lies the shirt that caused me to have to make the hard decision to not only send it back but also pick another top to return as well. The sad part is, I love this shirt! The issue I had was the fact that I have another shirt and a dress in almost the exact same plaid design. As much as I loved it, I just couldn’t see keeping a third piece that was so similar to two others in my closet.
Here’s what my Instagram followers thought:
My decision: RETURN
Item #5 MASON & BELLE Laria Crochet Trim Kimono Size- XS $42.00
My thoughts: Returning the red flannel ultimately led me to return this beautiful kimono as well. Again, this wasn’t an easy decision for me. The color of this kimono was EVERYTHING! I paired it with an olive cami and a pair of jeans and I was in love. The reason I picked this as my second item to return with the flannel was the reality of the amount of use I’d get out of it. As pretty as it is, I just couldn’t see myself getting enough wear out of it to justify keeping it. I’m really sad about it though. I loved this kimono so much!!

Final thoughts for my October 2020 Stitch Fix Box:
This October Stitch Fix was the perfect transitional box to carry me from these warmer fall days into the cooler ones that are hopefully in my future. I say this because it’s currently still hitting 90 degrees here in Florida! A couple of the items were perfect for layering while others were warm enough to wear on their own once the temps die down.

Okay Tiffany, I don’t know what’s wrong with your IG followers–but that white blouse is a total KEEPER! And I’m glad you kept it! Have you ever seen anyone in a white blouse that didn’t look amazing! I l love white blouses! I was sad that you didn’t keep the kimono–it was elegant and so what if you don’t get enough “wear” out of it??? It looked darling on you and loved how you paired it with jeans. The 21st century woman doesn’t care if she wears it out–if it looks amazing–get it! Love these Stitch Fix blogs of yours! (probably because I love shopping for clothes)!
I loved the white top too!! So happy I kept it. I love shopping too, Sharlene, as I’m sure you can tell. We will have to meet half way one day and shop together.
