It might be a few days after the 1st of May, but my Stitch Fix shipment finally arrived and I couldn’t be happier! With all the craziness going on in the world, my monthly box was a bit behind. With that being said, I totally understand the reasoning why it was late and I’m just thrilled to have my box in my hands right now.
I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t gone shopping in over a month, but everything in this May box had me swooning. It just felt nice to do a try-on in my bedroom and have a tiny change in my routine.
To be honest, I’ve been super duper productive during this quarantine and have kind of let my own self-care fall to the waist side. It felt good to get in front of the mirror and do my little Instagram and YouTube videos for you guys. It was a much-needed break for me!
And as always, it was fun getting feedback from you too! It has become a habit to share all five of the items from my Stitch Fix boxes on my Instagram stories so my followers can vote on what they like or don’t like from my fix.
If you missed the vote, I put together the YouTube video below so you can get a better idea of how the items looked after I tried them on.
Stitch Fix Box Review: May 2020 Fix #58
I’m struggling to come up with a specific theme for this May Stitch Fix box. There are a couple of pieces that intermingle with one another, but for the most part, this fix includes items that stand-alone or pair well with items I’ve already received in past boxes. The one thing that does stand out is the thinner material of the items in this box which is definitely appreciated because the Florida sun is already scorching hot. And it was a nice change to find some shorts and a kimono in my fix too!
Item #1 KAILEIGH Jemma Lattice Back Tie Front Knit Top Size: XS $38.00
My thoughts: As soon as I saw this shirt, it screamed LAKE LIFE to me! I’m not sure if it was meant to give off a nautical-vibe but the minute I saw it I knew I had the perfect pair of lake shoes to go with it. I’m seriously obsessed with the lattice back of this top. It gives the shirt a feminine touch which I absolutely love! The shirt’s material is super soft too and has a bit of a stretch to it which is always welcomed by me.
My only quorum with the shirt is I didn’t care too much for the tie-front detail. It gave the shirt a little bit of a crop top feel without being a true crop top. It kind of looked like the shirt might’ve been too short. It was just an awkward “in-between” length for me. If it weren’t for the tie-front, I would’ve totally kept this top. I’m planning on requesting something similar because I love the lattice detail on the back so much.

Item #2 DANIEL RAINN Bernal Split Neck Blouse Size: XSP $64.00
My thoughts: This was another cute feminine top with thinner material that’s perfect for the warmer weather here in Florida right now. The split neckline is super cute with just the right amount of cleavage. I also appreciated the ruffled detailing on the caps of the sleeves. I think where this shirt missed the mark for me was the color palette. The dark green, navy blue and chocolate brown seemed a little too fall or winter to me. I’d prefer a lighter color scheme for the summer. Dark colors don’t do too well in the Florida sun.

Item # 3 BLANK NYC Amira Short Distressed Size: 0 $68.00
My thoughts: Funny story! I was practically begging my stylist Sierra for a pair of distressed black jeans last fall and winter. She sent me a couple of pairs but none really hit the mark for me and I never ended up keeping any of them. To make it up to me, Sierra sent me these distressed black shorts in hopes that I would love them. I’m happy to report that these were a home run for me and I’ll definitely be keeping them. Finally!!
I did receive a ton of feedback about the price being too high on these shorts from my Instagram followers. I agree I can find cheaper shorts that are similar but I really liked the quality and fit of these. I will be wearing them weekly for the next 6 months at least so they’re worth the cost for me.

My decision: Keep
Item # 4 DANIEL RAINN Archie Embroidered Kimono Size: XS $64.00
My thoughts: I was so psyched to see this kimono in my May Stitch Fix box! I’ve been seeing so many cute kimonos lately and I’ve been dying for one. I have one kimono that I got on Amazon last year but I use it strictly as a bathing suit cover-up. This kimono is definitely in a nicer material with blue embroidered flowers. I absolutely love it.
Although I can still see myself using this as a potential cover-up, I feel this is a little fancier and deserves to be used more as an everyday outfit item. This will be perfect to throw on over a tank top in these upcoming months. I can’t wait!
Here’s what my Instagram followers thought:
My decision: KEEP
Item # 5 DEMOCRACY Martie Printed Side Zip Detail Skinny Pant Size: 0P $68.00
My thoughts: Holy Batman, I received a ton of feedback on these pants from my Instagram followers. I never knew there was such a love/hate relationship going on with camo these days! People either loved them or hated them and wanted to tell me all about it…which I loved!! Give me all the feedback, friends. I truly appreciate it!
Ultimately, I decided to return these pants. Not because I don’t like camo, I guess I’m on “Team Love” of camo, but because I’m worried about how much use I’ll get out of them in the near future. With the temperatures already hitting the 90’s here, I don’t see myself wearing these on a regular basis until at least November or December. Maybe if Sierra sends me another pair around that time I might keep them…who knows!

Final thoughts for my May 2020 Stitch Fix Box:
I have to say, I really struggled hard with what to keep and what to return in this May Stitch Fix box. You would think after 58 fixes that the process of keeping and returning would get easier for me but I think it has done the opposite. I’m finding myself becoming pickier with my choices and really putting some thought into what I’m willing to buy. I’m returning items that I absolutely love because of price or lack of places to wear the items to. Poor Sierra has her work cut out for her with me these days!

You received some good items. Those Jean shorts do look perfect and the kimono will be a great cover up this summer.
Thank you. I’m happy with what I finally decided on! I had $25 off as well so I didn’t spend too much which is always a good thing.
Stitch Fix is so fun! Those jean shorts are so cute and BlankNYC happens to be my favorite brand of denim!
How funny! This is my first piece from them in 58 boxes if you can believe that. 💗
Ahh, Tiffany! You know this is one of my favorite blogs that you post! I have to say–I’m disappointed that you didn’t keep the red & white striped top (#!)–it was darling–and if you felt it was more like a crop–it didn’t look that way. Plus, like you, I love that it was a lattice-back. And I liked the 2nd top, too. Like you, I wasn’t crazy about the Camo pants–but the black shorts were darling and will look fabulous on your cute figure! You still need to ask them about a gingham top–gingham is still popular! Thanks again for this fun, fun post! We’re all in need of fun right now!
I’m so happy you enjoy these posts as much as I do. It was late this month and I was literally almost jumping for joy when it came to my door. I needed a little fun to get my mind off things and the fashion shows did just that! I requested another lattice back shirt for a future fix but asked for it not to have a tie front if possible so we’ll see. Thanks for commenting!
