Happy Winter from freezing cold Florida! Okay, I might be exaggerating a teeny bit. It has only hit the low 40’s this week but that’s plenty cold for me. I’m a total wimp when it comes to cold temperatures.
Lucky for me, I received my winter-inspired Stitch Fix box just last week. Impeccable timing if I do say so myself! Such perfect timing that I’m actually wearing one of the sweaters from my Stitch Fix box as I’m writing this.
Sadly, the sweater I’m wearing is the only item I kept from my Stitch Fix box this time around. I was definitely on the fence with a few more items but ultimately decided to send them back. I did this mainly because I didn’t feel I’d get to use it as much as I would like to.
If only I were headed on a skiing trip in Aspen…
This brings me to a little epiphany I had when it came to this month’s Stitch Fix box. As much as I love Stitch Fix, I will admit that this time of the year isn’t the best in terms of finding pieces that work for me in my boxes.
In Stitch Fix’s defense, I don’t fit the mold and live in Florida where our winter temperatures differ significantly from the rest of the United States. Nonetheless, it’s something to think about if you find yourself living in a location that tends to have temperatures that conflict with the majority of the US during a certain season.
If you by chance decided to try Stitch Fix for the first time during a odd-ball month like I just mentioned, I highly encourage you to try again for a better box. Although I might have a few boxes that don’t hit the mark throughout the course of the year, I can honestly say I have many more that my stylist hits out of the park.
Stitch Fix Box Review: Winter 2019 Fix #54
With all that out the way, are you ready to see my winter Stitch Fix Box Review?! Let’s get started.
Item #1 FATE Clairina Textured Pullover $68
My thoughts: This pullover sweater is adorable! For starters, I love the khaki color of it. I don’t have anything like it in my closet. The sweater is beyond soft and made of a thicker material which is ideal for those cold winter days. I’m also a big fan of the crew neckline and the longer length of the sweater. I styled this sweater with a pair of skinny jeans and my Tory Burch boots. I absolutely loved the full look together. This was the one and the only item I kept from this Stitch Fix box.

My decision: KEEP
Item #2 Nordbron – Cirie Removable Pom Beanie $34
My thoughts: I have to admit, I really love this beanie! And if I were actually taking that trip to Aspen I mentioned, I would have totally kept this one. It’s an off-white color and went perfectly with the pullover sweater above. The best part of this beanie is the fact that the pom-pom snaps on and off allowing you to wear the hat with or without it. If I lived somewhere colder I would have kept this item in a heartbeat. It just didn’t make sense for me to keep unfortunately.

Item # 3 RD Style – Ditza Open Cardigan Top $78
My thoughts: I’m all about the open-front cardigans these days and this one is definitely super cute. It’s the same color scheme as the first pullover sweater and also goes well with the off-white beanie I was sent. The material is much thicker than the other cardigans I’ve received in previous boxes making it another great option for the winter. My dilemma with this item was the pattern. I love the pattern but wondered if it would still be suitable for next winter. Why am I already thinking about next winter? Because I know our winters in Florida are so short and I’ll only get to wear this cardigan a few times before the weather shifts. I opted to return this item for that reason but I honestly loved this cardigan.

Item # 4 Calvin Klein Suit Separates – Kamala Front $38
My thoughts: I absolutely love the color of this item! Although it might be a little hard to see in the picture, it kind of photographed more royal blue, it’s actually a deep purple. The color is like nothing else I have in my closet either. The item was described as a suit separate so I paired it with black slacks I have from my days working in the classroom. The neckline of the blouse along with the detail down the center of it was right up my alley. I love little feminine details like that! A black blazer thrown on top of this blouse would pull this look together. I think a denim jacket would work too for a more casual look. Ultimately, I opted to return the item because I wasn’t sure how often I would wear it and I didn’t care for the length of the shirt either. The way the shirt hit on my waistline made me look tremendous. I would never be able to wear it untucked.

Item # 5 Madewell – 9″ High Rise Skinny Jean $128
My thoughts: I’ve been asking Sierra for distressed black jeans for my last few Stitch Fix boxes but they haven’t been in inventory until now. Just so you know, I wanted so badly to like these jeans! And truthfully, these jeans were perfect in every way except for one. I loved the high-waisted look and felt the jeans hugged me in all the right places. I loved the rips in the jeans as well. What I didn’t like, and what made me return the jeans, was the washed-out color. When I said distressed I was meaning distressed in terms of the rips and not so much the color. I think I could’ve done a better job communicating this one to Sierra so I’ll take the blame on this. I just felt the jeans looked old…

Final thoughts for my Winter 2019 Stitch Fix Box:
This box was filled with really great pieces but they were probably more suited for someone living in an area that has an actual winter. As much as I loved some of the items, I had to part with them because I knew it didn’t make sense to spend my money on items I’d only get to wear two or three times this season. I am really looking forward to my February box and hoping the items are more suitable for this Florida girl!

Some great pieces in your Stitch Fix! That sweater looks so cozy!
Thank you!! Super cozy for sure 💗
Love those sweaters! Funny you say that about those jeans because I️ also got those and returned them for the exact same reason! They are super comfy, though, right?!
So comfy!!! Happy I’m not alone with the color issue though. 🤷🏽♀️
I absolutely loved that sweater you decided to keep!
Awwww, thank you! It’s so soft 💗
Your Stitch Fix posts are always so fun! I like the sweater and glad you kept it, but I really did like those skinny jeans–you looked amazing in them! I think you need to reconsider and have them send them back! And, I’m sure now that the holidays are over and your company is gone–you will get your energy back! Such a fun post!
Awwww, thank you! I did really love the jeans but I wasn’t willing to spend the $128 on something that looked so worn. I was trying to be smart with my money for once. Patrick should be proud of me, don’t you think?!
