Ultimate Super Bowl Party Guide
Planning on throwing a Super Bowl Party for your family and friends this year but have no idea where to start? Come visit me at the lake as I share with you my Ultimate Super Bowl Party Guide that is sure to score you big points with your guests at The Big Game!
The biggest football game of the year will be taking place in just six days and I can honestly say I can’t wait. Although it’s not common to hear such words from a woman, I must admit I absolutely love football and look forward to the Super Bowl every year. My husband is obviously a lucky man!
I’d like to say my love for football comes from the fact that I live in a house of all boys (minus Luckie Girl of course), but the truth is I have always had a soft spot for the game. And if I’m being completely truthful, I’m actually the one responsible for making our family Miami Dolphins fans.
In case you were wondering, I often take the wrath for that poor decision!
It’s a joke! I’m just a trash talker, my friend! Our family is basically obsessed with the Dolphins. We might say not-such-nice things about our team (it’s a love/hate relationship), but in all seriousness, we are season ticket holders and travel almost four hours each way for every single home game. We’re devoted football fans for sure!
I kind of wrote about football a lot on the blog this season. I shared ideas on how to organize a successful tailgate and how to survive game day as a girl. Both are must-reads for anyone looking to make the most out of their game day experience!
For us, football season starts in August. Our lives literally become consumed by the game and it typically doesn’t lighten up until early January. While other teams are still playing way into January in hopes of making it into the Super Bowl, the Dolphins are typically non-contenders and are already making changes for next season. It’s kind of annoying…
It’s no wonder that I am always itching for a good dose of football come Super Bowl time. By February, it has almost been a good month of no tailgating and football shenanigans for us! That’s a long time to go without my football fix and I’m jumping for joy to get the party started for The Big Game.
I’ve hosted many Super Bowl parties and it’s with all that practice under my belt that I feel experienced enough to share with you all I know about making your Super Bowl party the best on the block!
Ultimate Super Bowl Party Guide
Decorations – If your team made it into the Super Bowl (you lucky duck!!!), I would HIGHLY recommend you decorating with plenty of footballs along with your team colors and logos. That’s exactly what I’ll be doing the day the Dolphins make it into the Super Bowl hoping that happens one day during my lifetime. Teal and orange all the way! You must represent.
For those of you who do not have a tie to either team playing in the Super Bowl, I recommend decorating using footballs and helmets and sticking to brown, green, white and yellow for your color scheme. I’ve even got you covered with some free printables that simply need to be downloaded and printed on cardstock.
Here’s what you’ll find:
- food labels
- Tags perfect for cupcake toppers or that final detail on your snack bags
- Ready Set Eat! printable for your food table
Food Ideas – Finger foods, snacks, and dips are the way to go! You want simple things that can sit out and last throughout the course of the game but are also easy for your guests to grab and eat while watching the t.v.
Here are some great food suggestions from the blog. All these recipes are hits with my family and friends!
Football Trail Mix
Italian Cream Cheese Veggie Pizza
Games – Sounds kind of weird to have games during The Big Game, but hear me out. Not everyone likes football and they’d really appreciate something to do other than watching the game. That’s where Commercial Bingo and Football Squares come into play. Learn how to play them and print out the games to use with your Super Bowl guests. Yes, the games are also free in my resource library!
Seating – Normally, I don’t fret too much about seating at a party. Don’t get me wrong, if I were hosting a sit-down dinner party for my family and friends I would most definitely have the exact amount of seats needed for my guests. When it’s more of a casual event though, I make sure to have seating in many areas around the house but I don’t worry too much about it. This is mainly because I know that many people like to get up and walk around throughout the event.
For Super Bowl Sunday, however, seating is very important. Make sure that you have ample seating with a great view of the television. You want your friends to easily be able to watch The Big Game!
Have a well-stocked beverage station – Make sure that you have your beverage station stocked and ready to go for the party. You’ll want plenty of ice, beer, and also some non-alcoholic choices for the kiddos and your non-drinking friends.
Have fun – The main thing to worry about is that you are enjoying your guests and having fun! If that means throwing this all out the window, buying pizza and a case of beer, so be it. Entertaining shouldn’t, and isn’t, meant to be stressful! The point of it all is to get together and enjoy your family and friends, and of course, The Big Game.
I hope you enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday and find use from this Ultimate Super Bowl Party Guide to help you along the way. Have a great Game Day and may the best team win!
Okay, this is flat-out amazing! Like you, we’ll be watching the Super Bowl and rooting for the 49’ers–since my husband is born-and-breed in San Francisco! However, I’ll be copying some of your delicious food–the veggie pizza looks perfect, the pina colada fruit dip sounds yummy and my favorite–dill dip–I”m a BIG fan of dill pickles so that immediately caught my eye. Love your ideas–you always come up with the BEST ideas, games and more for fun events. Thanks for another amazing and informative blog!
How exciting to be able to root for your home team! One of these days my Dolphins will make it to the Super Bowl and we can go crazy! Enjoy Super Bowl and good luck to your team 💕
